Homeschooling Newbie
We received word that schools in Washington State will be closing for SIX WEEKS starting this week. Yes that is correct, six weeks meaning 30 week days. After being in a state of shock, then in denial for a whole day, I accepted the situation and started to create a plan to homeschool my two sweet boys.
Our school district hasn't communicated a plan for distance learning yet so I used last weekend to prepare myself for the next six weeks. I am no expert at homeschooling, but I know what I want my children to learn and know the skills they need to work on. Below is the schedule I created for my son Jackson who is in the second grade. Both my children thrive with a schedule so they know what to expect and honestly I follow it loosely. This schedule serves more like a checklist with times being fluid.

As the weeks go by, I will make adjustments as needed but for now this schedule provides us with much needed structure.
I sometimes post Instagram stories during the day so if you aren't already, please follow me at @sassysuburbanmom !
